Kamp grew up outside of Shifter culture because his mom was human and his dad wasn’t around. A few years previous his woman was unfaithful and he has trust issues.
While this book is a Shifter romance, it seems to be more focused on personal and crew development.
The characters and basic premise of the story are good, but there is so much passivity in the writing style. The author doesn’t show stuff happening, but rather tells that it happened. Despite the problems (which I am hoping is related to new series set-up) I am looking forward to the next book.

I love the concept that these women are daughters of this author's previous strong male characters from some of her older series. This is book one in the new Daughters of Beast series. Therefore it is Remington Novak's story and she is the daughter of the feared Beaston from the Gray Back Crew.

Remington has been living in the city and has just been dumped by her boyfriend. Her best friend sent her a clipping of a last-chance crew that needs some help. That is truly an understatement as Remington starts to find out. Her father also thought it was a great idea for her to take this on, and she knows not to question anyting her father would say or recommend for he is widely known for his visions. These broken boys from this last chance crew think that by her being a woman there is no way she will stay with them. They have another thing coming for she is a Grayback bear, a Novak Grizzly, the daughter of Beaston. Kamp is the one who intrigues her.

Kamp, has been with this crew for a little while now and he questions his decision to stay with them every minute of every day. They should be meeting their numbers for lumber and they are definitely not because the other two bears if so called crew are useless. Not one of them seems to care about absolutely anything in their lives. He has lost much but is trying at least to put one foot in front of the other. Now a beautiful woman shows up and he realizes she is a grizzly bear when she charges after him and takes him on. Holy bleep, the daughter of Beaston Novak!!

This is a really good start to this new series with Remington and Kamp. I truly enjoyed it not only because of their story, but because it includes characters from her grey back series which is wonderful because I love to revisit with the previous characters and get to know what's going on in their current lives.
Oh, My gosh! I kind of want to squeal a little here! The perfect beginning to this series about the daughters of our favorite monsters! Leading the charge is Remi Novak, oldest daughter of Beaston Novak, BA grizzly in her own right. Remi arrives at this Oregon mountain lumberjack trailer park a shadow of her former self, hurting from the loss of a relationship with a Human man who never deserved her love or loyalty. It is a joy watching her find herself again, and in the meantime she breathes new hope into a last chance crew of broken lions. Kamp, dominant lion raised by a single human woman, bleeding from his own loss, is captivated at first bite. Included in this story, is all the magic of a new reincarnation of 1010, (I love that those numbers are a constant thread through every story and series T.S. Joyce writes), and all the mystery of a Novak premonition. Novak Grizzly is a worthy addition to every T.S. Joyce book lover's collection! Or the perfect place to start one!
I love the old characters, so this book was truly a type of coming home.
These new characters are great additions to a familiar back drop. Though, I have to admit I wish there was some of the old conflict that Joyce wrote so well. While I definitely find the characters sympathetic and the storyline interesting, I wish there was some more uncertainty for a little longer. I love the "boy loses girl," aspect of that tale as old as time, just as much as I love the happily-ever-after.
Our alpha took us home! For us T.S. Joyce fans, this book was just that, a homecoming. Back to the crews we love, those wonderfully flawed bad ass shifter boys and the women who love them.
Remi is her father's daughter in the best possible ways. Beaston fans will love her and personally, i saw a bit of Willa influence in there too. Kamp reminded me our of favorite Red Havoc murder kitty with a little Jathan and even a touch of Brighton.
For new readers, just buy the book. Then go back to the beginning. Read Saw Bears and all the rest. If you like foul mouthed, troublesome shifters with hearts of gold and lots of stupid man plans (did you catch the Brooke reference hehe?), then you will love this series. They are funny, heartwarming, and full of mischief. Expect naughty jokes, pizza rolls, and epic love stories from Damon's Mountains.
You did it again Alpha. Thanks for bringing us back to the place we love and characters will never forget.
I love this woman's writing. I've loved everything she's done. This is not any different but there is a BUT coming. This felt different and I dont mean her style or anything. The story. It didnt feel as full as her others but perhaps its because its a new series and she's doing something different. It felt kinda small and there was no real conflict and maybe thats what I am used to. This felt more like a meet and greet to the crew more than anything but we got a little taste. I also thought Kamp's problem seemed kind of small. I really loved Remington though. Beaston's daughter? Hell yeah! We get some surprises at the end and I just loved that part. Loved it! Was I disappointed? Ohhh a little bit but she still made me cry. Whenever Beaston is apart of something in whatever form...I cry because he's my favorite and I LOUVE him. Like in love! ) I cant wait to see what comes next.
